Upholstery Market ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website upholsterymarket.com and the Upholstery Market mobile application for iOS (together, the "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you use our website or app.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly when using our Fabric Finder, calculator, and quote request service:

• Contact information — your name, email address, and phone number (optional)
• Project details — project type, furniture type, fabric preferences, budget range, timeline, and zip code
• Usage data — pages visited, quiz responses, and fabric selections, collected automatically via Google Analytics

When you use our mobile app, we may also collect or process:

• Device push token — if you enable notifications, your device generates a token that lets us send you alerts (such as when a local shop responds to your quote). This token identifies your device, not you personally, and is used solely to deliver notifications.
• Saved fabrics — fabrics you favorite in the app are stored locally on your device so they're available offline. This information stays on your device and is not transmitted to us unless you submit it as part of a quote request.
• Approximate location — the city or zip code you enter (or that you allow your device to provide) so we can match you with nearby upholstery shops. We do not track your precise GPS location in the background.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Send your project summary to the local upholstery shops you select
• Send you a confirmation email summarizing your project request
• Send push notifications you've opted into, such as when a shop replies to your quote
• Notify us of new quote requests so we can improve shop matching
• Analyze usage to improve our fabric recommendations and user experience
• Respond to any questions or support requests you send us

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising.

3. How We Share Your Information

Your project information is shared only with the upholstery shops you explicitly select during the quote request process. By selecting a shop and clicking "Send," you consent to your project details being shared with those shops so they can provide you with a quote.

We also use the following third-party services that may process your data:

• EmailJS — to send confirmation and notification emails through their secure infrastructure.
• Google Maps / Places API — to find local upholstery shops near your zip code. Your zip code is sent to Google's API.
• Google Sheets / Google Apps Script — to log and route your quote request to the appropriate local shops.
• Google Analytics — to analyze traffic and usage patterns using cookies and anonymized usage data.
• Apple Push Notification service (APNs) — if you enable notifications, Apple's service delivers them to your device.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our legal rights, or in connection with a business transfer.

4. Push Notifications

Our mobile app may request permission to send push notifications. You are always asked before notifications are enabled, and you can turn them off at any time in your device's Settings under Notifications. Declining notifications does not affect your ability to use the rest of the app.

5. Cookies & Analytics

Our website uses cookies through Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site, collecting anonymized data such as pages visited, time on site, and general location (city/region level). You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time. We do not use advertising cookies or sell cookie data to third parties.

6. Data Retention

We retain your submitted project information for up to 12 months for business record-keeping purposes. Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months by default. Fabrics you save in the app remain on your device until you remove them or delete the app. You may request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 8).

7. Data Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect your personal information. All data transmission between your device and our services is encrypted via HTTPS. However, no method of internet transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Privacy Rights

Regardless of where you live, you have the right to:

• Request access to the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your personal information
• Opt out of any future communications from us

California residents (CCPA/CPRA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information, and we honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as a valid opt-out request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

EU/UK residents (GDPR): You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. Our legal basis for processing is your consent (which you may withdraw at any time) and our legitimate interest in operating the Services.

To exercise any of these rights, submit a request through our contact page. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

9. Children's Privacy

Our Services are not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information through our Services, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

10. Third-Party Links

Our Services contain links to third-party websites including fabric brand sites (Revolution, Sunbrella, Crypton) and local shop listings. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites and encourage you to review their privacy policies before submitting any personal information.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of our Services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
